Breakfast setting with waffles, syrup, and a cup on a wooden table.

I always have questions

“Would you like some waffles?”

Most of them are about food. The rest are usually about what I should be wearing for some adventure or the other.

I rarely go to the grocery store without looking in every aisle.

In one form or another, I’ve been in sales since I was fifteen. Stationery, premium travel, printing, advertising, specialty coffee, craft beer, wine, cider, kombucha, skincare, gourmet preserves, and more. Family businesses, startups, multi-national corporations, and everything in between.

In almost every sales role, I’ve found myself naturally bringing brand, marketing, and operations into the same room as the sales conversation.

Why, what’s the goal? How are you setting quotas? That’s the thinking I bring to clients today. I drove a lot of managers crazy, but focusing on sales without the why or the service never worked for me.

I have a tendency to make a brand’s biggest sale, a fun record I love to hold.

Since 2014, I’ve been helping develop brand strategy, profitable sales programs, and Shopify stores for founder-led brands.

Email marketing programs launched from scratch have become new revenue channels for brands. I’ve consistently grown online sales over multiple-year engagements and supported a $500K raise for a brand focused on acquisition.

Working with small brands launching partnerships with The Jilly Box has been a lot of fun, too. Clients always leave with a stronger sales program than when we started.

Grant funding has been a powerful tool for supporting clients like CanExport, BuyBC, the BC Agriculture & Food Export Program, Launch Online, SR&ED, Heritage Canada, and MagsBC. I can help you navigate this.

Today I work as a fractional Head of Growth & Brand for two or three CPG founders at a time, I love building Shopify stores, and recently launched this new brand and website for the evolution of my own work.

Head of Growth & Brand

Hey, I’m Chantal Ireland.

Galley Bay in Desolation Sound, BC, Canada

When I’m not working I’m usually in the kitchen or out exploring.

In 2013, I moved to Victoria and met my partner over shared newspapers at a coffee bar. He had the warmest smile and is the kindest person I’ve ever met. I am grateful every day to walk through this life with him. He often volunteers in my business (and sometimes yours!), so he’s pretty well loved all around.

On my first trip to Europe, I borrowed his DSLR and renewed my interest in photography. That led to a monthly food column in a local magazine. Writing and photography have been part of how I process and share experiences since I was a kid.

In 2017, we took a six-month sabbatical and rode our bikes 1,500 kilometres through Europe, followed by hiking in the US Southwest. Rich retired from BC Ambulance in 2019, and in 2022, we spent five months sailing to Alaska on our 32-foot sailboat.

After more than a decade of adventures, we sold his house, bought a home together and moved to the Comox Valley in the summer of 2025.

Our house guests always wake up to great coffee and vegan waffles, and most days there’s fresh sourdough in the kitchen. There’s almost always something under the cake dome. Provisions are a big part of our lives around here.

I’m always up for waffles & adventures.

I’m a long form girl in a short form world. Clarify a product for a client in six words or less? No problem.

Do it for myself or tell a short story? Now we’re in a different boat..
