birds of a feather

Some things are worth more than money.

Growing your sales is our focus, but not at the expense of others.

We watch out for our Captains and crew.

Before anything, we work with good and kind people. We do our best to treat people equally, avoid judgement, and make you and your crew feel welcome. What differences we may have don’t matter to us, unless those differences show up as harm to others.

A sinking ship around here is anyone who claims superiority over others based on race, gender, age, sexuality, background, or anything else. We believe in human rights and freedom of expression.

Every project goes through the decency lens first. If your words or actions are intentionally harmful to others, you’re not Seaworthy. You’re on a sinking ship. We hope that in the lifeboat, clarity and decency find you.

our North Star

The outlooks that guide us, and what we value most.

Legacy

We work with brands whose social or environmental responsibility leads.

Our work is built to leave a lasting impact that teams can see a return on for years to come. Our founder joined the Social Venture Network (Vancouver Chapter) after reading a copy of Yvon Chouinard's Let My People Go Surfing in 2005, and it changed how we earn and spend our resources.

Optimism

Almost endless around here. In life and in work, we tend to go for it.

An old mantra we’ve always loved, “Leap and the net will appear,” is a great reminder. We keep optimism grounded with realistic goals and clear thinking. There’s enough people who will tell you that you can’t do it, sometimes even your crew. We’re here to help you reach new goals.

Creativity

From creative projects, to problem-solving, this thread runs deep.

We prioritize time for deep work, creative time, and stepping back when it gets lost. Driven by analytical thinking from our years in sales, our unique approach connects creativity to data. Founder-led brands have a creative advantage, and we love being able to test and iterate.

Service

Service is a lens, not a department. If we give you anything, let it be this.

For your customers, it means educating them so your brand stands out not just in your category, but in their minds. You don’t need to be everywhere. Getting clear on who your customer is and serving that person exceptionally well is more impactful. Build on quality, and manage that in the field.

Curiosity

Getting curious about customers is our favourite way to serve them.

We ask a lot of questions. Why things are done a certain way, or why we’re doing them at all. Getting to the heart of a challenge often means asking the same question a few different ways. Our outside perspective gets used to your advantage. The more we learn, the more we can help.

Celebration

Celebrations are important. There’s no one coming to do it for you.

Dancing when a new partner comes on board, a big sale lands, or a client hits a milestone is the norm around here. We love waffle brunches on a Thursday, or making a layer cake for our next client visit. The entrepreneurial mind is focused on what’s next or needs fixing, don’t skip the wins.

You deserve to celebrate your wins. Have waffles.

Hey, I’m Chantal Ireland

Founder of Seaworthy, a revenue strategy and brand growth partner for founder-led brands.

Since 2014, I’ve been helping small crews navigate three big topics—strategy, sales, and brand. With more than twenty years in field sales and creative work across premium CPG food, beverage, services, and more, I’m here sharing the things I’ve learned along the way.

Creative, analytical, and endlessly curious, I love a deep dive and a long story. I’m a builder. Helping a crew get their ship together lights me up. The work spans strategic planning, Shopify builds, and fractional sales and marketing leadership.
